Netflix Revenues 2015

Netflix 2015 total revenues reached $6.78 billion, up 23.2% yoy, from $5.51 billion in 2014.

Netflix Profits and Profit Margins 2015

Netflix 2015 operating profit reached $306 million, down from $403 million in 2014. Netflix 2015 operating margin reached 4.5%, down from 7.3% in 2014.

Netflix 2015 net profit reached $123 million, down from $267 million in 2014. Netflix 2015 net margin reached 1.8%, down from 4.8% in 2014.

Netflix US and International Streaming and Domestic DVD Business Revenues 2015

Netflix 2015 US streaming revenues reached $4.18 billion, up 21.8% yoy, from $3.43 billion in 2014.

Netflix 2015 International streaming revenues reached $1.95 billion, up 49.3% yoy, from $1.31 billion in 2014.

Netflix 2015 US domestic DVD business revenues reached $646 million, down -15.6% yoy, from $765 million in 2014. The US domestic DVD business revenues are on a continuous decline path.

Netflix US and International Streaming and DVD Mail Subscribers 2015

Netflix US streaming subscribers reached 44.7 million in Q4 2015. Netflix added 5.62 million new US streaming subscribers in 2015.

Netflix International streaming subscribers reached 30 million in Q4 2015. Netflix added 11.75 million new International streaming subscribers in 2015. Netflix global expansion continues. On January 6, 2016, Netflix launched its service globally, simultaneously to more than 130 new countries around the world. Now, the service is now Live in more than 190 countries.

While launching the service, Netflix co-founder and chief executive Reed Hastings said, “Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network. With this launch, consumers around the world — from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo — will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously — no more waiting. With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever and on whatever device.”

He also said, “From today onwards, we will listen and we will learn, gradually adding more languages, more content and more ways for people to engage with Netflix. We’re looking forward to bringing great stories from all over the world to people all over the world.”

Netflix added a total of 17.37 million new streaming subscribers in 2015. As a result, the total number of Netflix streaming subscribers around the world reached 74.8 million.  Clearly, Internet TV is increasingly becoming mainstream. As Netflix membership expands further, it will become a global distribution channel for the creators worldwide.    

Netflix US DVD-by-mail subscribers reached 4.9 million in 2015. Netflix lost 863,000 DVD-by-mail subscribers in 2015.
